“OFA”について
“OFA”は、宇佐美が掲げるステートメント “OfficeForArchitects”の頭文字であり、建築家・宇佐美喜一郎が主宰する個人建築設計事務所です。
工務店での施工管理実務、東京理科大学および宇都宮大学大学院での就学と研究、さらにベトナムでの研究・設計活動など、多様で特徴的なキャリアを背景に、「建築は “関係” をつくるメディアであり、ディテールは “関係” をより深くする」という理念のもと活動を展開しています。
建築物や空間全体の使い方のイメージの創出から、家具や建具等の身体に近い単位をベースに機能性（ファンクショナル）と合理性（リーズナブル）を追求して美しい空間と建築物をつくるお手伝いをします。

“OfficeForArchitects”について
“OfficeForArchitects”は、宇佐美が勤務したベトナムのインフラが整っていない地域の村の学校や住居の建築デザインを通じて、地場素材の循環を実践し国際的にも活躍している１＋１＞２建築事務所の建築家ホアントックハオ氏のHappy Architectureの運動からの影響を受けています。
ベトナムの現代建築デザインの研究と実践を通じて、建築は建築物を構成する素材や、素材の生産や組立の技術を統率する建築家、産地や流通減といった場所性の交わりから生み出されることは重要なことだと実感しました。その中で、特に建築家の文化、社会的なことに貢献していきたいと思って“OfficeForArchitects”を掲げました。
Happy Architecture：建築家ホアントックハオ氏が提唱する、建築家が主導する素材の流通や生産、設計・施工まで、その地場の人や素材と共に建築をつくり、地場の人々が幸福な日常を過ごすための運動・実践。
About “OFA”
“OFA” stands for “Office for Architects,” a statement that represents the vision of architect Kiichiro Usami.
Building on his diverse background—ranging from practical experience in construction management at a contracting firm, to academic research at Tokyo University of Science and Utsunomiya University Graduate School, and professional design work in Vietnam—Usami founded OFA on the belief that “Architecture is a medium that creates relationships, and details are what deepen those relationships.”
“OFA” is an independent architecture design office led by Kiichiro Usami.
The practice provides comprehensive architectural and spatial design services—from conceptual planning that envisions the overall use and atmosphere of a space, to the detailed design of furniture and fixtures on a human scale—pursuing beauty through functionality, rationality, and a deep understanding of human experience.
About “OfficeForArchitects”
“OfficeForArchitects” is an international 1+1>2 architectural firm that practices the circulation of local materials through the architectural design of local villages with underｰdeveloped infrastructure in Vietnam where Usami worked. And, through the influence of Architect(KTS) Hoang Thuc Hao's Happy Architecture philosophy.
I think from research and practice of contemporary architecture in Vietnam, the architecture is important from the perspective of the materials that make the building, the architect who supervise the production and assembly technology of the materials, and the locality such as production area and distribution. I thought of "OfficeForArchitects" because I wanted to contribute to the culture of architects and society in Japan.
